EPISODE NOTES
When life just seems like it can’t get any worse, it’s almost instinct to just give up and let life happen to you. There’s a feeling of depression that can creep in, and a sense of helplessness can paralyze you if you let it.
It takes a lot to press-on and take back your life, but you can do it! After spending years in a home where her father was abusive to her and her mother, and then losing her leg in the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, Rebekah Gregory could have given up and decided to be satisfied with her life that seemed like it would always be going from one tragedy to the next.
Instead, she stood in the face of adversity and decided to take her life back! Because of all that she’s overcome and how she’s developed into an amazing wife and mother, Dr. Meg knew this was a story that Parenting Great Kids listeners just had to hear. Rebekah tells Dr. Meeker the story of her childhood and how she overcame the odds to become the woman she is today, even though she lost her leg in a terrorist bombing.
There’s so much you will be encouraged by from this interview! Also in this episode, Dr. Meeker answers a question from a wife and mother about differing parenting styles between her and her husband beginning to push them apart. If you have a question you want Dr. Meeker to answer in a future episode or on the Meeker Parenting Community page, email them to askmeg@megmeekermd.com and listen to see if your question is featured next!
