Hosted by Dr. Meg Meeker | May 2nd, 2023 | 46:19 min.
Dr. Meeker has picked out some of her favorite shows from the past 7 years of podcasting. We will be playing clips of six episodes as we go down memory lane.
Today's Guest(s)

Mike:
In 2008, Mike put all his skills together and started his own audio video production company PFCAudio/Video. Here Mike has continued his excellence in audio production, but has now added video editing, videography and producing as well. Currently he is producing video web commercials, creating video demos for professional/motivational speakers, producing and shooting live webcasts, and is producing many audio projects as well.
In 2014 he joined the team at Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk. Here, he is the Director of Broadcast as he heads up a team of editors and producers with the final goal of producing the high quality and professional daily radio program, “Family Talk”.
He understands the industry and has fresh ideas to push your product and to get your name out to the public. With he expertise and knowledge, Michael Segovia and the PFCAudioVideo team are able to assist you in telling your story behind the story.
Jessica:
Jessica Daley is a writer, speaker, media producer and voiceover artist. Beginning her broadcasting career in 2019 at Dr. James Dobson’s Family Institute, Jessica helped facilitate Dr. Dobson’s nationally syndicated radio show, Family Talk.
Though, only being in the media production industry for a few years, nothing about the field seems unfamiliar to her. Jessica feels as though, by divine appointment, she “accidentally” stepped into her career-calling. In an effortless way, Jessica intuitively seems to know exactly what each project needs in order to come to life on air. She also has a special way of personally relating to and understanding every client.
EPISODE NOTES
In this episode, Dr. Meeker and her podcast producers, Mike Segovia and Jessica Daley, take you down memory lane in celebration of Episode #200 of the “Parenting Great Kids” podcast.
Episode 165: “Toxic Screen Time” with guest Melanie Hempe. She has answers and solutions for parents when it comes to social media and their children.
“Kids who are not burdened with smartphones and social media score higher in every single area. From academics, family attachment, interests, and hobbies, to their exercise and eating and sleeping habits. Everything that you can possibly measure, they do better.”– Melanie Hempe
Episode 41: “The Hope of Adoption” with guests, Steven Curtis, Mary Beth, and Emily Chapman. Emily was heavily involved in creating and nurturing this desire in her parents to want to adopt a child.
“I realize more as I look at the work of Show Hope and our own story of adoption and all the ways that God’s hands have been on and working through Emily’s life and our family in a profound way.” – Steven Curtis Chapman
Episode 29: “Being a Hero Dad,” with guest Philip Rivers. He has eight kids along with being a football star and practicing leadership on and off the field. Dads need to learn to see themselves through their children’s eyes.
“I think ultimately we want to teach them to know, love, and serve God as a family of faith.”– Philip Rivers
Episode 144: “Encouragement for Children Who Are Adopted and in Foster Care,” with guest Peter Mutabazi.
Peter is a single dad who fosters children. He has his own traumatic background growing up in Uganda with an abusive father. He has learned that trauma affects people in different ways.
“For me, a time out is time in my office with me or time in my kitchen with me. So you see, I am there. You aren’t going to play video games. You are going to sit with me while I clean or do dishes because that’s when I want to win them over. Sending them away is a trigger for most of them.”
– Peter Mutabazi
Episodes 57 & 58: “The Importance of Fathers” with guest Tucker Carlson. Dr. Meeker and Tucker Carlson talk about the state of fatherhood in America.
“The key divide is not between left and right, Republican or Democrat. It’s between people who believe the family is the center of everything and those who don’t.” – Tucker Carlson
Episode 180: “CRT, Sex Ed, and Other School Issues” with guest, Dr. Carol Swain.
They discuss hot-button topics that shine a fresh perspective on what our children are being taught.
“We want to live in a society where the dignity of every individual is respected. I believe that as a Christian, that all men and women are created in God’s image and that we are to love one another.” – Dr. Carol Swain
Dr. Meg’s thoughts on the past 7 years of podcasts:
It has been such a joy! Our goal has been to encourage parents during their parenting journey. Don’t let life become overwhelming by worrying about things you don’t need to worry about. My heart is to continue to teach and encourage parents in the years to come.
