When it comes to teaching kids about sex and sexuality, our culture is one messed up place. We have crushed any respect for modesty (a self-preservation reaction) and we have normalized the bizarre.
I have never hidden my dislike for Planned Parenthood for two reasons. First, they do abortions and second, they don’t tell the truth to kids. I have no doubt that there are many nice, well-intentioned folks who work at local clinics. Some of my good friends have volunteered at some, completely unaware of the philosophy of those who run the organization at the highest levels. But yesterday, even Planned Parenthood stepped way over any lines they might have drawn. If you don’t look at any video for the next month, you must look at this one. This is how sick our culture has become when it comes to sex and kids.
A girl went into a Planned Parenthood clinic posing as a 15 year old with questions about sex. What she got was grotesque, abusive, (yes, it is abusive to teach a kid how to participate in S+M) medically inaccurate and wrong advice. In fact, as a physician, if I had given this same advice to the girl I would have set myself up for a malpractice lawsuit. That’s exactly what would happen to any physician in the country who encouraged a child to participate in an activity that would lead to behavior that was high-risk, abusive, psychologically traumatic and could lead to any number of sexually transmitted infections. Pardon my bluntness, but anal sex is extremely high risk because very often blood is involved. That leads to much higher risk for transmitting infections.
It is outrageous to think that millions of our taxpayer dollars go to fund an organization that is blatantly providing information that is harmful to our children. I strongly urge you to speak out against this abuse of our kids. As parents, it is time to act. Join me in contacting our local legislators to request them to take action to protect our children by defunding Planned Parenthood and put a stop to this madness.
